The University of Tunis El Manar Honors Dr. Sadok Besrour

The University of Tunis El Manar held a ceremony honoring Dr. Sadok Besrour, a Tunisian physician who has contributed throughout his career to the advancement of medical education and scientific research at the international level. The ceremony was attended by the university’s vice-presidents, deans and directors, as well as members of the academic and medical communities.

Professor Moez Shafra welcomed Dr. Sadok Besrour and expressed his pride in honoring a leading Tunisian scientific figure dedicated to advancing science and innovation in the service of health.

The university’s leadership emphasized that this recognition celebrates a distinguished medical career spanning from academia to international forums. Dr. Sadok Besrour has contributed to the development of family medicine through the establishment of the Chair in Family Medicine in Canada. The Dr. Sadok Besrour Foundation has also launched pioneering initiatives supporting scientific research, education, and knowledge transfer.

Professor Moez Shafra also highlighted the role played by the Dr. Sadok Besrour Foundation in establishing the Dr. Sadok Besrour Prize for Excellence in Health Sciences Research, a pioneering scientific initiative designed to support young talent and encourage innovation and excellence in the field of health.

He further emphasized that Dr. Sadok Besrour’s achievements go far beyond what can be captured in a few words, praising his continued commitment to strengthening bridges of cooperation between Tunisian universities and international academic institutions. These efforts have opened new avenues for partnerships and knowledge exchange while contributing to the advancement of scientific research.
