The Besrour Centre for Global Family Medicine

The Besrour Centre for Global Family Medicine, launched under the auspices of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), is an international  platform dedicated to advancing family medicine worldwide. The Centre aims to promote family medicine and primary health care globally through international collaboration, medical education, research, and health equity. Its origins trace back to Dr. Sadok Besrour’s invitation to the CFPC to reflect on the role Canada could play in the global development of family medicine. This reflection led to the organization of the Besrour Conferences, and subsequently to the creation of the Besrour Centre as a lasting structure to carry this work forward.
